Books to read: February 2018

Hello, bookworms! Today, I’m sharing my to-read list for February. (Click here for my previous month’s list!) This month is going to be a busy month full of work schedules, deadlines, and party planning. So I limited my time for reading novels and take more time idealizing about work and parties and other relative activities where I can make hugot from.

So I was strolling along SM Bicutan, when I had the chance (while my mom and dad were busy scratching their scratch and win lotto tickets) to check Booksale. Booksale is my go-to store to score thrift books. Each book may range from 10-300php before, but now that books are already and suddenly in the trend again (actually happy for this!) the second-hand prices increased. But you can still find books for as low as 35php.

Two books got me interested:

51zWzVhxpoL__SX321_BO1,204,203,200_.jpgAnd Life Comes Back – a wife’s story about how life was and is before and after her husband died. Losing the love of your life is a very relatable topic for me. Huhugot nanaman ako. But really, I was only in the first chapter as I drafted this post, and I couldn’t read continuously bec I didn’t wanna cry. How Tricia wrote her feelings was very moving, I just can’t…

This probably will be the first book I’ll be reviewing for this blog.

More: From Messes to Miracles – this is actually a Christian book (which my sister found very religious even she’s not read it yet), which made me think it is inspiring. I need a lot of self-help book right now. Alam mo na, sa daming gulo ng istorya ko sa buhay these days.

I knew I have said stupid things lately, so I thought I needed to pause sometimes, and read or listen more. Parang “teka lang, tama pa ba tong ginagawa ko?” One part of the synopsis got me: People everywhere are looking for something more… Perhaps you keep wishing your life were better than what you are currently experiencing now.”

Yeah. I really had to share my Feb list because I know these books could help not only me, but lots of people suffering from loss, heartbreak, self-doubt, depression, anxiety, etc. Maybe take a break from overthinking and read a book instead?

Happy reading!
